Work for Bachelor exhibition. Bergen, Norway.
Made with bricks from demolition sites around Bergen. Mortar made of clay and sand. Sculptures made of soapstone from an old quarry in the area.
Every morning during the exhibition period I fired in the oven and rearranged the setting around it.
The oven was placed outside the entrance of the school building. I wanted it to be standing in front of the authoritarian style of the newly built schoolbuilding. Forming a new a place to stance and talk with each other, and a reminder of forgotten work and material
Title is a quote from Harry Martinssons essay collection Svärmare och Harkrank. It would translate to: "Moving into abandoned crofter's ovens as if the warmth still remained"
